Wynelle "Penny" Dudley Keim

June 12, 1947 — June 6, 2025

Knoxville

Wynelle (Penny) Vincent Keim, 77, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, surrounded by her sons, Charles (Chip) Raymond, 46, and William Rodney, 41. Born June 12, 1947, in Petersburg, VA, to Raymond Vincent Dudley and Ruth Wynelle Williams, Penny overcame a modest childhood to live a life of passion, faith, and service.

A 1965 graduate of Petersburg High School, Penny pursued nursing as a Registered Nurse, a calling she embraced until her final days. On May 24, 1976, she married Dr. Lon (Mickey) Keim in Iowa City, IA. They settled in Omaha, NE, welcoming sons Chip (born April 26, 1979) and Rod (born December 2, 1983).

Known as “The Porch Lady” in Omaha, Penny’s elaborate holiday displays brought joy to her community. Her love for cooking, hosting, and canning—especially her “Hot Mama’s Relish”—created cherished memories around her table. A collector of antiques and a gifted decorator, she made every space warm and inviting.

Penny’s deepest passion was her Christian faith. A devoted churchgoer, she studied her Bible fervently, supported Christian causes, and visited the Holy Land. Despite health struggles, her trust in Jesus remained unshaken. She would wish for others to find hope in Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, Penny is survived by sons Chip (Chris) and Rod (Alisha), and grandchildren Kaitlyn, Cohen, Kylie, Josiah, Selah, Jeremiah, Tallulah, and Noah. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved “Daddy” in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. A visitation will be held June 12, 2025, from 5-7 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, Knoxville, TN.
