William Thomas Gray Sr.

William Thomas "Bill" Gray, 71, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at UT Hospital on Thursday, August 21, 2025. 

Bill was born on September 1, 1953, in Middlesboro, KY, where he made his way into the entertainment industry and was a local business owner for 40 years. He loved shooting pool, fishing, collecting knives, and cherishing time with his grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his father James, mother Vena, brother John, sister Liz, and daughter Maria. He will be forever remembered by his sister Wanda, sons: William Thomas Gray, Jr. (Leslee), James (Leigh Ann), and Joseph; 5 grandchildren: Lauren, Layla, Lainey, Cody, and David; and his loving friend, Denise and countless other friends.

Bill will be remembered for his hard work, unwavering integrity and love for his family. His kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor were gifts to everyone who knew him. 

The family will receive friends Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, followed by a 7:00 PM funeral service. Family and friends will meet Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 12:45 PM at Lynch Cemetery (Cemetery Rd. Middlesboro, KY. 40965) for a 1:00 PM graveside service.
