Wayne Richard Parrott

Wayne Richard Parrott, age 77, of Knoxville passed away on November 25, 2025. He was a loving husband and father, but his favorite title was “Papa”. He enjoyed gardening and feeding the wildlife around his home. He was of the Christian faith and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gib and Helen Parrott, brother, Bill “Teet” Parrott, and parents-in-law, Sam and Alice Douglas.

He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Gaye Douglas Parrott, children and spouses, Amanda and Gerald May, Leigh and Brian Terry, Joey and Tiffany Parrott, grandchildren, Andy May, Brilee, Bryce and Brayden Terry, and Lily Parrott, brother-in-law, Steve Douglas, sisters-in-law, Lois Douglas and Teresa Parrott. Special neighbors, Steve Shields and family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Holston Health and Rehab Center, especially Sam and Heather. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Mission of Hope in memory of Wayne at P.O. Box 51824 Knoxville, TN 37950.
