Wanda Kate Courtney

Our precious and beloved mother, Wanda Kate Courtney, age 90 of Powell, TN, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She will be dearly missed. She was an amazing mother to her two daughters and the best “Nana” to her three grandsons. Married her husband Jack Courtney on March 6, 1949. She was retired from the Standard Knitting Mill. After retirement Wanda enjoyed traveling with the Top 50’s group from Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church and yearly beach vacations with her family. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and working puzzles. She never met a stranger and she was loved by all that she met. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-one years Jack Courtney; beloved parents, George and Mildred White. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Vicki Church (David) of Powell, TN, and Brenda Rowe (Ken) of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Nicholas Rowe, Justin Church, and Nathan Rowe; and special friend who is like a daughter to her, Kathy Clanton. Family and friends will meet 2:45pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Sutherland Ave., for a 3:00pm graveside service officiated by, Rev. Mike Powell.
