Walter A. Hughes age 75 of Corryton, TN passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.  2 Timothy 4:7-8.  He was a member and Deacon of Union Baptist Church on Washington Pike.  Retired from Modern Supply and was a Veteran of Vietnam Era, serving in the United States Army.  Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Edith Hughes, brothers Doug and Harold Junior, bonus daughter Candy Acuff.  Survivors: wife of 36 years, Brenda Norton Hughes; son Walter A Hughes II (Rachel), daughter Megan Hutchinson (Johnny), bonus daughter Connie Hurst; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and bonus children.  Sisters: Nancy Roberts, Karen Conley, Kather Groharing Dochterman (John), brother Chris Hughes (Renee): several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till 2:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Union Baptist Church, 6701 Washington Pike Knoxville, TN 37918 followed by a 2:00 pm Memorial Service, Rev. Craig Cummings officiating. Burial will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church 6701 Washington Pike Knoxville, TN 37918.  Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
