Walter Eugene Dyer

Walter Eugene Dyer, age 91 of Knoxville, went to his heavenly home, Saturday, September 20, 2025. Gene was a member of Atkins Baptist Church. He was known for his honesty, kindness, and humble spirit. He served in the military for 6 years and worked at Plasti-Line for 35 years. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Ann Dyer, special friend Jane Standifer, father William F. Dyer, Sr., mother Ruth Dyer, brothers William F. Dyer, Jr., Bobby Jack Dyer and wife Shirley, brother-in-law Jack Henderson, and nephews Chris and Timmy Dyer. Gene is survived by daughter Marti and son-in-law Gary Hensley, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, sister Francis Henderson, brother Jerry and sister-in-law Brenda Dyer, sister-in-law Cindy, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am Friday, September 26, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service, Rev. AC Cooper officiating. Pallbearers are Jerry “Shorty” Dyer, Nathan Atkins, Brandon Anderson, Chris Graham, Jordan Graham, and Kevin Dyer.
