Victor S. Upchurch, Jr.

Victor S. Upchurch, Jr., age 78, of Powell, TN passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born October 19, 1947, to his late parents, Victor, Sr. and Evelyn Upchurch. He was a graduate of Powell High School Class of 1965 and went on to retire from ORNL after 40 years. Victor was a 50-year member of the Masons Lodge and Worshipful Master at Beaver Ridge. He was a longtime member of Ridge View Baptist Church. Victor was an avid UT fan and loved to cheer on the Vols. Most of all Victor was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Victor was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Irene Cole; niece, Wendy Franse; and great-niece, Victoria Hemphill.

Victor is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sondra Miller Upchurch; children, David (Karri) Upchurch, Kelli (Derek) Wiles and Terry (Crystal) Upchurch; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister, Gloria (Paul) Bosma, 4 nieces, one nephew, one great-niece, one great-nephew, and several other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service and Masonic Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Ridge View Baptist Church (6125 Lacy Rd. Knoxville, TN 37912) with Pastor Zach McGill officiating.
