Vicki Leigh Williams

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vicki Leigh Williams, of Fountain City, Knoxville, TN, who passed away after long fought health battles on September 24th, 2026.

Vicki was born on September 23rd, 1957 in Knoxville, TN to James “Bud” Witt and Ella Anne (nee’ Griffith). She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her kindness, strength, and her compassion for people.

Vicki was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and touched the lives of many people. She worked as a corrections officer for Knox County as well as a CNA for Hillcrest nursing home, Holston nursing home and Elmcroft Assisted Living. She was a loving caregiver. Her greatest and most fulfilling job, however, was being a mother and grandmother.

Those left mourning her loss are her husband of 37 years come October 27th, 2026, James Verlin Williams; daughters, Dana Daniels and Rachel Williams-Poore (Payden); brother, Jay Witt, grandchildren Blake Wyrick, Hunter Carr, Austin Sellers, Faith Daniels, Cory J. Hawkins and Nala Leigh Hawkins along with nieces, Shay Witt and Chelsey Witt Gordon (Shane). The family would like to mention her friends whom she loved dearly, Janet West, Sherry Helton, Bobbie Durham, Keionah, DeeDee, and too many others to mention.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James “Bud” and Ella Anne Witt, her son, James Reed Daniels, and her daughter, April Kaye Daniels.

A gathering was held privately to celebrate her spirit.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to their favorite charity. Vicki loved children and would have donated to St.Jude’s.
