Vesta Vonette Norman

Vesta V. Norman age 88 of Powell, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, February 1, 2024 surrounded by her family.  She was the organist for over 30 years at Trinity Baptist Church and a longtime member.  Retired from F. L. Lay Masonry as a bookkeeper.  She loved NASCAR and all of the University of Tennessee sports.  Preceded in death by husband, W. A. Norman, Jr.; parents, Miller and Janie Lamb; sister, Faye Cooper; brothers, Byon Lamb and Clendon Lamb.  Survivors; sons, Bo (Wanda) Norman and Darrin (Linda) Norman; grandchildren, Dawn (Jason) Hellard, Aaron and Austin Norman; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Josh Hellard; special nephew, Chester (Linda) Cooper; special niece, Vera Jones; sister-in-law, Martha Branum; several other nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Vesta's caregivers for the excellent care. Amanda, Niki and Keiren.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service, Rev. John Sexton officiating.  Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2024 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.  "She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, an awesome basketball player, talented musician and above all, a wonderful person who served the Lord.  She will be greatly missed by each and every person who knew her.  Rest in peace".  Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
