Vernie Lee Foust

Vernie Lee Foust on born May 3, 1935, from Coal Creek (now Rocky Top), TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

He is preceded in death by wife, Shirley Juanita Hickson Foust; son, Vernie Lee Foust Jr; parents, "Kit" Carson Foust and Katherine (Katie) Melvina Burton Foust; brothers, Bernard, Earl, Hollis, Edgar, Hubert, and Theodore; and sisters, Beulah, Betty, Willie, Gladys, and Helen.

He is survived by children, Vicky and Darrell; grandchildren, Carson, Matthew, Danielle, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, April, Kayden, Bentlee, Sophia, Mykah, Evie, and Logan. Everyone called him "Pete". He loved old vehicles, fishing, gardening, animals, and his family. He worked hard all his life to care for his children and grandchildren and helped raise his grandchildren and nephew, Tommy Foust. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a service to follow. Family and friends will meet at Lynch-Bethel Cemetery at 12:45pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, for an 1:00pm interment.
