Vernell Roberts Garland

Mava Vernell R. Garland age 74 of Corryton passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at North Knox Medical Center. She was a member of Branville Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents; Murphy and Zebeda Roberts, brothers; David and Philip Roberts, sisters; Martha Keck and Jeanette Vineyard. Vernell had a fierce Love for her family. She wrote every special occasion in her “Book of Knowledge” and she never missed a birthday. Food was her “Love Language” – we will all miss her macaroni and cheese, sweet tea along with her pies and cakes of all kind. Survivors; husband of 60 years, Stanley Garland. Sons; Greg (Amanda) Garland and Anthony (Valerie) Garland. Grandchildren; Ben (Jessica) Garland, Spencer (Heather) Garland, Kara (Ben) Waters, Casey (Katie) Garland, Abigail Garland, Anna Garland and Addison Garland. Great-grandchildren; Maelee Garland, Emersyn Garland, Abe Garland, Lottie Garland, Elouise Garland, Rosemary Garland and Elliott Garland. Sister; Evelyn Williams, Sister-in-law; Evelyn Roberts, special cousin; Tommy Joe McMillian, special friends; Jackie and Roger Couch. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service Pastor Mike Lee and Pastor Spencer Garland officiating.
