Jeanette Tucker

Vera “Jeanette” Tucker, 84, of Knoxville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was a member of Inskip Baptist Church. Jeanette was known for her fun-loving spirit that could easily fill a room with laughter. She was a loyal friend and cherished the “good ole days” at Rule High School as a Golden Bear where she met the love of her life, Fred. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids and bragging about their accomplishments and their beauty both inside and out. She loved spending time at the polls gathering votes for those she supported. That passion came from years of service she provided downtown at the City County Building. Thank you to all those that brought happiness to Jeanette’s life, Sophie (her sweet poodle) that was her constant companion, and especially to Norma Owens, one of her dearest life long friends. The laughter, the dancing, the story telling, and the love in Jeanette will live on in all of us.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Tucker, of 57 years; her parents Pearl and Grace Mathes; siblings Carl Mathes, Helen Barnes, Laura Frye, and Cleo Mathes. She is survived by her two children, Vicki Summers (Donnie), Ricky Tucker (Stephanie); grandkids Ashley Summers, Mackenzi Koch (Steven), Callie Grace Tucker, and Chase Tucker; great-grandkids James Koch and Eloise Koch.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with service immediately following at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, 2829 Rennoc Road. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:45 a.m., 2300 Adair Drive, for graveside service to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023.
