Vera Fern Evans

Vera Fern Evans, age 88, of Corryton, TN, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, after a short illness. Vera was born on April 23, 1934, to Norman and Alma Beasley in Deer Lodge, TN. After Vera graduated from Sunbright High School in 1953, she worked for a greeting and card company in Ohio. In 1954, Vera and Billy Dean Evans were married in Sunbright, TN. They went on to have two children, Sandra Evans Weiten and Allen Evans. Vera was well-loved by all family members. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Fairview Baptist Church for over 60 years. She loved her family, watching U.T. girls basketball, and sitting in her sunroom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Alma Beasley; sisters, Vivian Beasley, Vondale Brooks and Virginia Shannon; brother, Vernon Beasley; daughter-in-law, Cathy Evans. She is survived by husband, Billy Dean Evans; son, Allen Evans of Jonesboro, TN; daughter Sandra Weiten (Bob) of Estill Springs, TN; grandchildren, Elizabeth Dulaney (Alex) of Tilford, TN, Melissa Warren (Andy) of Estill Springs, TN, Nick Weiten (Nicole) of Murfreesboro, TN, David Evans (Hillary Martin) of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brooklyn and Madelyn Dulaney, Edan and Briella Weiten, and Laney Warren. Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Dr. Jeff LaBorg and Keith Weaver officiating. Family and friends will meet at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:45am on Friday, March 3, 2023, for an 11:00am graveside service. Condolences can be left for the family at www.mynattfh.com
