Vaughn Ray Watson

Vaughn Ray Watson, age 86, of Claxton, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was a lifelong member of Riverview Baptist Church. Vaughn found great joy in working on and restoring old cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a fifty-year member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 102.

Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Marie (Nolan) Watson; sister, Helen (Ronald) Peppers, brothers, Melvin Watson, I. M. (Mary Rene) Watson, Eual (Georgia) Watson, Mayford (Betty) Watson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Watson; daughter, Yvonne Turner; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Deana Watson; stepdaughter, Wendy Ball; stepson John Wells and sister-in-law, Wanda Watson; grandchildren, River Porter and Rachel (Michael) Robinson as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and several special life-long friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2026, at Riverview Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Reverend David Watson officiating. The interment will immediately follow.
