Knoxville

Tulley Gene Widner, age 84, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. Tulley was proud to have served his country in the United States Army.

He has been a faithful deacon for over 40 years and was a member of Alder Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Tulley loved to praise the Lord singing with his wife and his girls in church. Tulley retired from Y-12 National Security Complex after 47 years where he served in various roles. He looked forward to anytime he could cheer on the Volunteers from his recliner whether it be football or basketball and always had his favorite orange on.

Tulley was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Imogene Widner; parents, Esker and Bessie Widner; brothers, Laford Widner and Joe Widner; and sister, Maureen Watson.

He is survived by his daughters, Scarlet Haynes (Edward) and Wendy Johnson (Darrell); grandchildren, Emily Franks (Zach), Amanda Haynes, and Adam Haynes (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Ella, Hazel, Malachi and Danisha; sister, Geraldine (Bill) Turner; special friends, Don and Rosalee Duncan; as well as many other special family and friends. A special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice and Professional Case Management for everything you did for Dad (Papaw).

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with a Service to follow, with Rev. Jimmy Davidson officiating. Special singing by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicely. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10:15am to go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00am Graveside Service.
