Tonua Rae Kidwell

Tonua Rae Kidwell, 76, of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on December 5th, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1949, to Paul Clemons and Ozella Gaught Clemons.

Tonua was a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, selflessness, and endless service to her family and church.

Tonua worked at the Knoxville News-Sentinel, where she was the first female to become a district manager

At age 60, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by graduating from the Tennessee School of Beauty.

She faithfully served her church, Park West, in many capacities for over 20 years. Additionally, she enjoyed serving at the Tennessee Church of God summer youth camps, where she volunteered for over 15 years.

She is survived by her husband Howard Kidwell; children Angel Harris Emory (Craig Emory), Jamie Harris, and Paul Harris (Charity McGinnis Harris); her grandchildren Zane (Emilie) Badgett, Cody Badgett, Lauren Harris (Matt Nauman), Olivia Harris Ramsey (Caleb Ramsey), Ava Harris, Tanner Harris, Ezra Harris and Kai Harris; her great-grandchildren Weston Nauman, Kollyns Nauman, Melody Ramsey, Claire Ramsey, and Cadence Ramsey.

She is preceded in death by siblings Gaynelle Gresham, Jerry Clemons, Charles Clemons, George Clemons, Leonard Clemons, Brenda Tallent Clemons, Joyce Cline, and Janice Shipley.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Mynatt’s Funeral Home, Powell Chapel. Receiving of Friends will be 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. The service will be at 7:00 PM.
