Toni Robinson Watts

September 9, 1954 — June 14, 2022

Toni Robinson Watts, 67 of Knoxville passed away on Tuesday, June 14. She left her self-proclaimed heaven on earth at the beach, bound for the heaven prepared for her by her Savior, Jesus Christ. Toni was welcomed upon her arrival by so many loved ones who had gone on before her. Most recently her best friend for life, Margie Hinkle, her sister Susan Smith, and her nephew John Christopher Wade who was like the son she never had. Also, her adoptive parents, Charles and Ina Humphrey and her sister Laverne were there with open arms to reunite with her. Toni spent many years working as a graphic artist at the Tennessee Valley Authority and most recently prior to her retirement, she was employed by Senior Home Assistance. Toni loved the Lord and was passionate about serving him in any way possible. She was a long-term member at North Knoxville Baptist church where she served on many committees, had been a Director in the AWANA program for the children, helped with Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and for the last several years she helped to teach in her beloved First Place women’s group. Toni was married to the love of her life Ron Watts. They recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on the day they departed for vacation to Oak Island. They were the example of a godly marriage, and how love does not give up even in the hardest of times. Toni was mom to Joy Watts Chadwick, but also best friend and confidant. There are not words to describe the relationship that was, or the gap that is now left in its place. Her relationship with her son-in-love Jeff had reached a whole new level of love and pride recently when he accepted the Lord as his Savior. She took such delight in that special time and in talking about Salvation with him. Her “grands” as she called them, Aiden and Addison Chadwick were her world, and she began to instill a love for Jesus in them at a very young age. She was the glue that held the Watts Chadwick family together, but that glue will remain as a foundation for us to build upon. The 5 of us all vow to carry on her work in carrying the message of God’s love and in furthering the Kingdom. We would like to especially thank Pastor Joe Emmert, and Kris Emmert, Jamie and Jackie Smith, Bud Barnett. You have all anticipated our needs and met them before we even know what they were. Family members Dean & Darcy Watts, Harold Watts, Sharon Griffin, Dave & Tara Robinson, Church families at NKBC and Recovery at Powell. First Place ladies at NKBC. Toni is also survived by a large host of other family and friends. The family invites you to join us in celebrating her life at North Knoxville Baptist Church, 217 W Oldham Avenue on Wednesday, June 22 from 5-7pm, service to be officiated Pastor Joe Emmert following the visitation. There will be no graveside service. Please bring with your stories you have from all the memories made with Toni, as there will be an opportunity to share.
