Steven Lynn Heiser, 74 of Powell, TN peacefully went to be with the Lord on 20 January 2026 at his home with family by his side after fighting cancer for 29 years.
Steve was born 07 December 1951 in Knoxville, TN to Maxine and Hubert Heiser and was a member of Fairview Knox Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, and friend. He was proudest of his family, as they were his priority. He retired from Kimberly Clark in Loudon after 27 years. He enjoyed working on cars, especially classics.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maxine (Cooper) and Hubert Heiser; grandparents Mabel (Moore) and John Heiser, Laura (Melton) and Luther Cooper.
He is survived by wife of 50 years, Darlene (Underwood) Heiser; sons Joshua (Leslie) Heiser of Knoxville, Jacob (Kathy) Heiser of Powell; daughter Julie Heiser of Greenland; grandchildren Braden, Kaitlynn, Grayson, and Caroline Heiser; brothers Leslie Heiser of Powell, Kenny Heiser of Sharpes, FL; sisters Sherry (Tommy) Hill of Durham, NC, Elaine Spears, Knoxville; brother-in-law Wayne Underwood of Knoxville; special cousin Mark Heiser of OH; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ian Hay and Dr. Mabel Ryder of Mayo Clinic Oncology Department; UT Halls Oncology; Dr. Davarifar, Dr. Foust, and Chris Yandell, NP of UT Cancer Center; Dr. Peter Campbell and Dr. Shane Kelly; doctors and nurses of 5th Floor, East Wing, UT Medical Center; Amedisys Hospice. Thank you for the incredible care and devotion to Steve.
Family will receive friends Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with funeral following at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:15am at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel to go in procession to Oak Ridge Memorial Park for an 11:00am graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Braden and Grayson Heiser, Allen Monroe, David and Chris Hill, and Mark Heiser. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua, Jacob, Julie, Kaitlynn, and Caroline Heiser, Steve Butcher, Mike Eldridge, Tony Beaver, Glenn Hennessee, and Tom Yarberry.
