Steven Wayne Haley

Steve Haley, 59, of Powell, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones. Steve was known as “Coach Haley” to so many but the roles he was most proud of were being a devoted husband, father, son, papaw, father-in-law, and friend to so many.

Steve loved everything to do with his family. He loved spending time with them, watching or coaching them in sports, or watching them coach their own teams.

In his down time, he loved to go to concerts, play golf, or take trips to the beach. He always wanted to be the host of any gatherings for family and/or friend events, sporting events, or quality time together for a family dinner. He made any guests feel like they were a part of his family whether it was his own friends or his children’s friends.

Steve also loved anything that involved sports and competition. His love for sports and competing bled through to his children and each of the athletes that he coached through the years. He touched so many lives during his time coaching baseball and basketball.

No matter the situation, Steve always found a way to light up the room and make people feel welcomed, safe and loved. He always made people laugh and made them feel like Steve had known them for years even if they had just met. He was a quick-witted, sarcastic, yet loving man who loved even harder than he made people laugh and smile.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Doug Haley. He is survived by his mother, Vada, and wife, Kristi. He is also survived by his children: Jordan (Bryce), Cameron, Parker (Kaitlyn), and grandchildren: Harper and Saylor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel. A funeral service will be held directly after to begin at 8:00pm officiated by Brady Wiles and Wayne Golden. Family and friends will meet on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel at 11:00am to go in procession to Bells Campground Cemetery for a 12:00pm graveside service.
