Stephen "Steve" Eugene Huffaker

Stephen Eugene Huffaker, 60, passed away surrounded by family just one day shy of his 61st birthday on Sunday, February 25, 2024, after a short, but hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Born on February 26, 1963, to Bill and Velma Huffaker in Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by his infant son, Brandon; sister, Lynda Cole; father, Bill. Survived by his mother, Velma, wife of 33 years; René Huffaker, children; Josh (Meredith), Colby (Maddy) and Cassen Huffaker; grandchildren, Nora, Molly and Hollis Huffaker; sister, Cheryl Richter (Eric) and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was a man who lived life to the fullest: devoted to Jesus, adoring his wife, teasing his boys, and accompanied by his fierce little friend Bentley. He lit up every room with laughter, smoked the best meat, rocked out to music and cherished his UPS buddies. Join us as we celebrate Steve's life at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church (701 Merchant Drive) from 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024, followed by a celebration of life, Rev Kent Williams officiating.  Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel (2829 Rennoc Road) 12:15 PM Friday, March 1, 2024 to leave in  procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 PM graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to The V Foundation for Cancer Research (www.v.org) in his name.
