Stephen Anthony Capelli, Sr.

Stephen Anthony Capelli, Sr., age 81, of Clinton, Tennessee, formerly of Clovis, California, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. Steve was a retired member of the Fresno County Sheriff Posse and was known for his deep love of ranching and farming, often reminiscing about working alongside his brother, Frank, and helping his daughter, Toni, with horses.

Born to Antonio and Mary Capelli, Steve was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Capelli, Jr., his parents, and his brother, Frank Capelli. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jane Capelli; his daughter, Toni Capelli, and son-in-law, Doug Stidham; and his cherished grandchildren: Dalton (Stephanie) Doolittle and Tristan (Brenna) Capelli.

In 2022, Steve moved to Clinton, Tennessee, to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. He found great joy in sharing stories from his days on the ranch and in the company of his family. Steve’s legacy is one of hard work, dedication, and love for those around him.
