Stacey Thomas Benson

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Stacey Thomas Benson. Stacey passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, in Nashville on Monday, July 7, 2025, after a six-month-long battle with an undiagnosed gastro illness.

Blessed with a generous spirit and warmth, Stacey conducted himself with kindness, integrity, and a love for life. Stacey was devoted to his family. He was a dutiful son, a supportive sibling, and a steadfast husband and father. His relationships were marked by depth and sincerity, reflecting the warmth and generosity that defined his character. He was born in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Central High School (82).

Stacey was preceded in death by his parents, Ashley J. and Betty Creswell Benson; brothers Mike, Mark and Andy; niece Caroline; grandparents Helen and Harold Creswell, and Stella and Clay Benson. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Hayes, mother-in-law JoAnn Henderlight, brother-in-law, Mike Henderlight, and his puppies Rambo and Smokey; sister Cathy (Susan), brother Adam Jeffrey; nieces Brandis Belue (Brent), Ashley Jordan, Chelsey Benson, Eden Benson, Erica Henderlight; nephews Graham Benson, Austin Benson, Blake Benson (Morgan), Evan Henderlight and nine grand nieces and nephews.

Stacey was an avid fan of the VOLS and Titans, and a passionate music lover, attending 26 New Orleans Jazz Festivals. His interests brought joy to those around him. Family gatherings, shared memories, and his unique wit shall be cherished always. Stacey was the consummate sales professional during his remarkable career. Most recently he was the National Sales Manager with Azenco.

Friends and family are invited to attend the service at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel, 2000 Powell Drive, Powell TN, Saturday, August 9, 2025. Receiving friends will begin at 2:00 pm with the service following at 4:00 pm. Interment to follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, 7424 Fairview Road, Corryton, TN 37721.
