Shirley Annette Nicely Hammock age 82, of Maynardville, TN. Our beloved Wife, Momma and Nana went to Heaven Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Tennova North Medical Center. There are no words to describe the void she left behind. However, we are comforted by God’s promise that this is not goodbye, but I’ll see you later. Until that day, enjoy walking those beautiful shores of Heaven finding the most beautiful shells for your collection. Rest easy Momma till we meet again. She was a longtime member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Her passion was helping others. She worked for 46 years at St. Mary’s Medical Center. When she wasn’t working, she could be found tending to her many beautiful plants and flowers, quilting or making hand towels to share with everyone. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family. Especially taking family vacations to the beach so she could take walks and hunt shells. She was preceded in death by her son, Hildreth Strange, grandsons, Brandon Strange and Joshua Dyer, stepson, Scott Hammock, parents, Oscar and Ethel Nicely, sisters: Dorothy Clayton, Minnie Moody, and Flossie Stooksbury; and brothers, Oscar Nicely, Jr. and Jim Billingsly. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, William “Bill” Hammock, son, Roy Strange, Jr., daughters, Dorothy (Jerry) Collins and Stephanie (Eddie) Dyer, grandchildren: Ashley (Justin) Treece, Jessie Collins, Justin (Courtney) Strange, Devin Strange, Shad (Hannah) Dyer, Zachary Dyer, Brandon (Megan) Marlow, Justin Raley, Philip Lawson, Billy Hammock, Randa Robbins, Deidra Douglas, and Casey Geisler; great-grandchildren: Christopher (Samara), Micah (Amber), Abram, Raelynn and Taelynn Treece, Brynlee Strange, Ashtyn Moore, Cameron and Haven Lawson, Baylor Marlow, Kiersten and Willow Hickle and coming soon, Kingston Dyer; stepdaughter, Terri Hammock and family friend, Robyn Kitts. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, August 9, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, immediately followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service officiated by Rev. Dwayne Fortner. Family and friends will meet Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12:15 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel and travel in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 pm interment.
