Carolyn Ann Mynatt

August 8, 1941 — May 10, 2026

Knoxville

Carolyn (Ann) Webb Mynatt, 84, departed this world peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Emory Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in Powell, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Leslie Webb and Stella Caroline (Callie) Moore Webb; and beloved brother, Kyle Moore Webb.

Ann is survived by daughter, Karen D. Mynatt, Connecticut; son, Douglas O. Mynatt, Illinois; and two cherished grandsons, Max M. Hassan, Connecticut and Knox L. Mynatt, Illinois.

She also leaves several nephews, nieces and a legion of cherished cousins and friends.

Born and raised in Knoxville, TN, Ann attended West View Elementary School and was a proud graduate of Central High School. She was a lifelong member of Second United Methodist Church, a church that her great-great-grandfather Col. John Coffee Chiles (G.A.R.) helped establish in downtown Knoxville.

During her lifetime, she enjoyed her roles as Brownie leader, Cub Scout leader, UMYF youth counselor, school room parent, volunteer school nurse, church volunteer and ever-ready chaperone for her son and daughter. She was an excellent planner and event organizer, cook, baker, seamstress, gardener, crafter and quilter. Her absolute favorite activity was traveling to New York, New England, Mackinac Island, the Gulf Coast, Charleston, Cades Cove and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She enjoyed exploring genealogical sites, horseback riding and many excursions with the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
