Sherry Lynn Butler

Sherry Lynn Butler, age 70, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on September 9, 2026.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Grogan and Dorothy Grogan; and her husband, Richard Butler; grandparents, Luther and Cinda Flynn; also, Henry and Willie Grogan.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Grogan, Leon Butler, and William “Willie” Butler; her sisters, Pamela Sheppard and Susan Gass; her brothers, Robert Grogan and Steven Grogan; her aunt, Barbara Jones; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is also survived by her stepson, Steven Butler, and stepdaughter, Rebecca Butler.

Sherry loved gardening, watching birds and coloring. She found joy in the beauty of nature and will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the special memories she leaves behind.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, at Fountain City Chapel with a 7:00 service to follow. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go into procession. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, at East TN Veterans Cemetery, Lyons view.
