Shaun Anthony Ellis

Shaun Anthony Ellis, 44, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away at his home with his wife, Shanna Ellis and his children, Cameron and Addison Ellis by his side on Monday, May 1, 2023 after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. Born September 3, 1978, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Shaun was employed with ESC Spectrum for 24 years and developed many great work friendships that carried him through his life.  His friends from childhood, as well as adulthood, said he was a man of great character, always lending a listening ear and always up for a good time.  In his free time, Shaun enjoyed fishing, hunting, gaming, playing golf, and taking really great vacations with his family.

Shaun is survived by his wife Shanna Ellis, son Cameron Ellis, and daughter Addison Ellis, all of Mooresville, Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Brenda Hemphill; brother-in-law and nephews, Brad Hemphill, Brady and Carter Hemphill; grandparents Bill and Mildred Ellis; father and mother, Paul and Darlene Ellis; sister, Felicia Daniels, brother in law, Shayne Daniels and niece and nephew Reagan and Colton Daniels; as well as countless friends, family and colleagues throughout North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee.  

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health teams 4T and 4B and the doctors and staff at Southern Oncology for their constant care and love during Shaun’s illness.  

There will be a celebration of Shaun’s life, Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home located at 4131 E. Emory Road, Knoxville. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm.  All are encouraged to wear orange to remember Shaun’s love for the Tennessee Volunteers.
