Sharon Rebecca Taylor

Sharon R. (Yow) Taylor of Fountain City, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Sacred Ground Hospice House.  Sharon left a legacy of service, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her community where she was an employee of Knox County Sheriff's Office for almost 15 years working in the Special Services Division as Education Coordinator.  In this capacity, she shared vital safety lessons with numerous elementary school students through programs such as school bus safety, stranger danger, and the Eddie Eagle program.  She also oversaw the Neighborhood Watch and National Night Out programs, always striving to make her community a safer and better place for all.  She was an avid fan and supporter of Lady Vols Softball, and part of the Lady Vols LOCOS.  She loved her dog Jack who had crossed the Rainbow Bridge, avid camper and loved her camping group.  She was an member of Magnolia Avenue United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years and other various church positions and committees.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn and Norman Yow, Sr. and her brother, Norman Yow, Jr.  Survivors; daughter, Brittney (Nic) Finley; partner of 26 years, Kelly Litton; Norman Yow, I; longtime beloved friend for over 30 years, Sylvia Walker; her Lady Vols Locos, Michael, Terry, Patty and Barker; also, she will be missed by her coworkers in Special Services.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt and special "Thank you" to U.T.
