Sharon Denise Martinez

Sharon Martinez, 71, of Knoxville, TN has passed away on December 10, 2025. Sharon was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sharon was most known for fierce love and dedication to her family. She dedicated her life to ensuring that her children, grandchildren, and even great children had what they needed.

Sharon is preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Taylor; her husband, Gil Martinez; and her two children, Nicole Velazquez and Michael Velazquez. She is survived by her sisters Paula Caliendo, Kim, Robin; her brother Jeff Taylor; her children Michelle Velazquez, John Velazquez, and Manuel Velazquez; her grandchildren Alex and Sierra Velazquez, Joseph, Brittany, Anthony Velazquez, Zoe and Oliver Spangler, Darica, Cumesha, Cumecus Cates, Arionna, Trevon, Jaquinton, and Daesha Velazquez; her great grandkids Kayden and Kyrii Bailey, Keymauri Jones, Camarrius Rice Jr, Emory, Oaklyn, and Savion Cates, Maliyah, Alexia, Christopher Jr, and Bentley West, Emmitt A. Watts, Jasmine A. Velazquez, and many more dear friends and family.

The family will have a gathering of friends from 2:00 pm -3:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel followed by a 3:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service.  Thank you to everyone involved with the service.  The family would like to also thank Mynatt Funeral Home for being so accommodating during such a hard time and ask in lieu of flowers for donations be made to Mynatt Funeral Home to help with expenses.  Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
