Sharon Burton Atkins

Sharon Burton Atkins, age 74, of Knoxville, passed away November 19, 2023. She was a member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after 32 years of service.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee with honors. Sharon was a devoted wife who loved cats and gardening. She was one of the sweetest people you’d ever meet. Preceded in death by parents Harold and Pauline Burton and sister Sally Young. Survived by husband of 31 years Kyle Atkins, daughter Vicki (Michael) Johnson, sister Susan Edmonson, several nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends 2:00 pm -4:00 pm Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with service to follow, Reverend Mark DeVault officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm Monday, November 27, 2023, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for a 2:00pm interment service.
