Sarajean Rowene Carlyle

Sarajean Carlyle, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Autumn Care Center Assisted Living facility where she was living in Karns, Tennessee. Sara was under the care of Hospice of the University of Tennessee and Autumn Care. She was 88.

Sarajean was born in Brighton Twp, Wellington Ohio to Herbert and Dolores Peet, graduated from Wellington High School in 1954 then on to Ashland University, College of Nursing in Ashland Ohio.

Sara was an RN who worked as a head nurse at hospitals in Ohio and Florida. She was also The Director of Nursing for a rehab center in Lakeland Florida. Sara ended her nursing career working for Hospice in Auburndale Florida. She chose not to retire completely. Known affectionately by many as “Grandma Sara”, she worked another 8 years at Danville Elementary and Danville High School in Danville Ohio, as well as being a Para Professional at Sparrow Academy in Florida. She always said working for the schools was just as rewarding as her nursing career. Throughout her life and careers, she loved her family and friends with all her heart.

Sara is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Larry) Daniels of Dade City FL and son, Brad (Laurie) Miller of Lakeland FL; grandchildren, Joshua (Chantel) Miller, Larry (Molly) Daniels, Adam (Hannah) Daniels, Brittan Miller, Shane (Cindy) Miller, Alexis (Dani) Borden, Zach (Kat) Miller, Bailey Miller (Dalton Jenner); great grandchildren, Paxton and Presley Miller, McKenna and Jamison Daniels, Macoy and Conway Daniels, Riley and Levi Borden, Kenai and Elijah Borden, Elaina Miller; sister and best friend, Rhea Rolfe of Lakeland FL and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded by husbands, David Miller and William Carlyle; son, Mark David Miller and brother-in-law, Clifton Rolfe.

There will be no calling hours per Sarajean’s request. The family will have a graveside service when her ashes are buried with her husband William, in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida.
