Sarah Woneitta Davis

Sarah Davis, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 7, 2026 at the age of 84 in Knoxville, TN.

Born on June 18, 1941, in Maynardville, TN, Sarah lived a life defined by love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was known for her warm heart, sassy spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed and cared for.

As a grandmother, Sarah was truly one of a kind. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether it was sharing stories, cooking in the kitchen, offering guidance, or simply enjoying time together. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and love—a reflection of who she was.

She is survived by her sons Tony (Angie) Tharp and Everett (Kay) Wyrick, grandchildren: Brandi (Bryan) Smartt, Aaron Tharp, Chelsea Davis, Jacob Davis, Harley Rucker, Brittney (Justin) Cecil, and Michael Caldwell, sisters: Jackie Powell, Brenda Savage, Linda Kitts, Barbara McClain, Brothers David & Johnny Tharp, 14 great-grandchildren, Daughter-in-law Susan, and several nieces and nephews, who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Davis, her parents Eveart and Gladys Tharpe, brothers: Jim and James (Bear) Tharp, sisters Ruby Lay, Bessie Ford, Marilyn Bailey, sons Leonard Wyrick, Tim and Mark Davis, and grandson Ryan Davis.

Family will receive friends on June 11, 2026 from 4-8 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Sarah’s life and the many ways she touched others. A graveside service will be held on June 12 at 1pm at Berry Highland South.

Sarah’s love and legacy will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
