Samuel Brackett, age 62, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on July 23, 2026.

Sam was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He dedicated 37 years of service to Pellissippi State Community College, where he proudly served as the Print Shop Supervisor. His strong work ethic, kindness, and dedication earned him the respect and friendship of countless coworkers throughout the years.

Outside of work, Sam had a lifelong passion for Mustangs. He was an avid collector and enthusiast who enjoyed attending car shows and supporting the Mustang community whenever he could. Above all else, Sam treasured the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered for the love and care he showed his wife, children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. His generous heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Sue.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, James; loving wife, Tammie; his children, Shonna (John), William (Angel), Kassie, and Jakob (Hallie); his brothers, Steve and Jeff; his beloved grandchildren, Evan, Chance, Brysyn, Everleigh, and Aubrey; his lifelong friend, Mike Burke; his special friends, Melvin and Cathy; his in-laws, James Fritz, Suzanne Fritz, Kari Miracle, and Jim Fritz; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to remain afterward for food and fellowship as they gather to celebrate Sam’s life and share memories together.

Sam’s legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and dedication to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
