Ruth M. Thomas

Ruth Jarvis Thomas 93 of Knoxville, TN passed into the arms of Jesus early Sunday morning November 13, 2022. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who also was a faithful member of Emory Valley Baptist Church. Born in Sneedville, TN, but lived in Knoxville where she worked for 35 years at A&P. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert (Bob) Thomas, and two of her daughters Carolyn Thomas Edington and Diana Thomas Dunn. Others waiting for her in her Heavenly home include: her parents, Arlie and Hattie Jarvis, Sisters: Cora Seal (Paul), Stella Jarvis, Edith Thomas (Henry), Mildred Haynes (Jacob), Brother: Clay Jarvis (Louann). Ruth will be waiting for other loving family to join her including her devoted daughter Jan Thomas King (Larry) who cared for her well, her loving son Robert D. Thomas (Bonita), son-in-law Sam Dunn, and her sister Easter Mincey of Ohio. Also, her many grandchildren who dearly loved her: Karen Edington Cope (Randy), Jeanna Edington Reynolds (Todd), Erin Dunn Lee (Adam), Eric Dunn (Ashley), Valerie Burns (Billy), Spence King (Pam), Doug Thomas (Wendy), Stephen Thomas (Casandra); Great-Grandchildren: Drew Cope (Racheal), Kristopher Cope (Brenna), Sydney Cope Davis (Brennan), Miranda Reynolds Mader (Oliver), Matthew Reynolds (Tricia), Hudson Lee, Emerson and Adeline Dunn, Courtney Boarders and Lauren Burns, Spencer and London King, Tradd, Zachary and Ellie Thomas; Great-Great Grandchildren: Jaxson Cope and Aria Cope; Several beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturday, November 19th at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with the funeral to follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. James Andrew Cope and Rev. Richard Nicley officiating. Following the funeral a procession will travel to Liberty Hill Cemetery, Washburn, TN for a graveside service.
