Russell “Rusty” David Bunch, age 55, of Knoxville, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Sandra (Murray) Bunch-Meredith; beloved uncle, Teddy Murray; and step-father, Herman Meredith.
Rusty is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca “Becky” (Berry) Bunch; sons Dillon and Davis Bunch; aunt and second mom, Brenda “B-Kay” Murray; special uncle, Jim Bunch, as well as many other relatives, friends, and coworkers who have been loved and talked about by Rusty but may have lost touch over the years.
Rusty lived by his faith and family. He worked most of his life, well over 30 years, for Mayfield-Dairy Farms and loved every minute of it. His coworkers were like his family, and he loved seeing them. He was also a longtime member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, where he set an example to his family to follow Jesus Christ.
When he was not working, spending time with his wife, or playing with his two boys, Rusty enjoyed watching the Tennessee Volunteers, watching World War II documentaries, working on cars, and shooting guns.
Above all else, Rusty wished to be remembered as a hard-working Christian man who loved his family and loved God.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 5-7 P.M at Mynatt Funeral Home-Powell Chapel. A service will follow with Rev. Kent Williams officiating.
Friends and family will meet at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 10:45 A.M for an 11:00 A.M graveside service, where Rusty will be laid to rest. Pallbearers are John Diehl, John Hutton, Tim Roessler, Randy Thornhill, Thomas Matthews and Brian Johnson; Honorary Pallbearers, Gary "Grease" Mobley and David Henry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rusty’s honor to Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchant Drive, Knoxville.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Tennessee Cancer Specialists, especially to Dr. Ibach and his team, for never giving up on Rusty.
