Roy Edward Strange, Sr., age 83, of Maynardville, TN., our beloved Daddy and Pap Pap went to Heaven Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Sacred Ground Hospice House surrounded by his family. Words cannot describe how hard it was to let him go, or how much we will miss him. However, we are comforted by God’s promise that this is not goodbye, but I’ll see you later. Until that day, we have a John Deere tractor driving Angel waiting for us there. Rest easy Daddy till we meet again. He was a long-time member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN. He loved and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 60 years before reluctantly retiring when the facility closed. He always had a smile on his face that brightened the room and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Hildreth Strange, grandsons, Brandon Strange and Joshua Dyer, parents, Jess and Margaret Strange, sister, Dora Adams, and brother, Clark Strange. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Donna Strange, son, Roy Strange, Jr., daughters, Dorothy (Jerry) Collins and Stephanie (Eddie) Dyer, grandchildren: Ashley (Justin) Treece, Jessie Collins, Justin (Courtney) Strange, Devin Strange, Shad (Hannah) Dyer, Zachary Dyer, Brandon (Megan) Marlow, Justin Raley and Philip Lawson; great grandchildren: Christopher (Samara), Micah (Amber), Abram, Raelynn and Taelynn Treece, Brynlee Strange, Ashtyn Moore, Cameron and Haven Lawson, Baylor Marlow, Kiersten and Willow Hickle, and coming soon Kingston Dyer; sister, Peggy (Roy) Crawford, brother, Hooper (Sue) Strange, and family friend, Robyn Kitts. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, immediately followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service officiated by Rev. Dwayne Fortner. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12:15 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel and travel in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 pm interment service.
