Roy "Butch" Edgar Brown III

(Butch) Roy E. Brown III, age 71 of Powell, passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2026. He was a self-employed builder for 52 years, dedicating attention to his craft and taking great pride in his work. But his greatest project was the 6-generation family farm- a place built with love by family and for family, where his hard work and devotion will live on for generations.

He was a genuine and honest man who believed in God and doing things the right way. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was always there when someone needed him. He showed up- not just with tools and talents, but with his heart.

His legacy is not only what he built, but in lives he touched, the family he loved dearly, and the example he left behind.

Butch was preceded in death by his son, (Buster) Roy E. Brown IV; father, Roy E. Brown, Jr.; mother, Anna M. Brown; and infant brother, Ronnie Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Teresa Gail Brown; daughter, Tammy Brown and her child, Sarah Jordan; grandson, Blake Brown and wife, Makayla and their children, Riley, Cash, Colt, Wyatt and soon to arrive baby Sadie; grandson, Bristol Brown; and granddaughter, Baylee Brown; and sisters, Joan and Donna; several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

Family and friends will meet at 1:15 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel and travel in procession to the Brown Family Cemetery for a 2:00 PM graveside service officiated by Pastor Tommy Louthan.
