Rosetta McKinney

Rosetta “Boots” McKinney, age 75 of Knoxville, TN was taken into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday April 19^th 2024. Being the youngest of four children, and the last of the Golden Girls, there was a reunion and early birthday party going on in Heaven on Friday.  She was strong-willed in everything she did, whether it be her diet, how she played Bingo or Rummy, how she loved to shop. She also loved old Country music and church hymns. The Golden Girls spent many Friday and Saturday nights at a place called “The Barn” listening to the music they loved. Boots was so blessed with a network of friends at Candleridge Apartments where she lived the last 12yrs and in the Powell Community. Preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Roosevelt “Pete” McKinney, who she always said, “I got my daddy’s eyes” and Emma Mae McKinney, who gave Boots her strong will; brother, Richard Allen McKinney; sisters, Barbara Jean McKinney and Shirley Irene Saunders. Survived by her special nieces and nephews, Gary and Donna Saunders and Lisa Saunders Hughes in the Knoxville area; Debbie Sheehy and family in Richmond, Va; Richard McKinney Jr. and son in Fairfax, Va: and sister-in-law Marsha McKinney in Richmond, Va. Several great nieces and nephews and very special great-great nephew and niece, in Knoxville and Virginia; Many cousins in the Halls, Powell, Knoxville, and surrounding areas. The family would like to give special thanks to the Stat Care Hospitalists, Fort Sanders Neurology Hospitalists, Stat Care Pulmonary, and all the wonderful nurses at Fort Sanders for the amazing care she was given. The family will receive friends Friday April 26^th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, officiated by Reverend Joshua Ferguson.
