Ronnie Lee Smiddy, age 76, of Knoxville, TN passed away on December 24, 2024 at Sacred Ground Hospice. Ron was a graduate of Knox Central High School and also where he taught school for 25 years in the Vocational Department. Ron also worked for 30 years as master Technician for Knox County Election Commission. Ron loved playing golf at Beaver Brook Country Club as well as being the golf coach for Central High School. His retirement sent him to Norris Lake where he and his family enjoyed time with friends on their house boat. When not at the lake, he was found socializing with his retired work friends and support system. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Augustine Smiddy and brother, Kenny Smiddy. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jacqueline Smiddy; son, Danny (Donna) Smiddy; daughter, Leslie (Danny) Harbin; grandchildren, Dillon Harbin, Sloan Harbin, Danielle (Taylor) Pratt and Devin (Will) Beeler; five great grandchildren; sister, Cathy (Bob) Cummins; sister-in-law, Susan Orth; several nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend and companion, Sadie. A thank you to the staff at Tennova Hospital, Home Health Care, Hospice and Sacred Ground for the excellent care of Ron. A private graveside will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Young Williams Animal Shelter or Humane Society of Knoxville would be appreciated.
