Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Lewis, age 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Ronnie was born on July 14, 1941, to Ava "Blaine" Lewis and Thelma Lewis.
Ronnie spent his entire working career in the restaurant industry. He worked for many years at Regas Restaurant and continued working as long as he was able. Ronnie will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet determination, and the love he had for his family.
Ronnie was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed watching football, listening to old country music, and spending time with his family. To his grandchildren, he was simply "Papaw," a name he wore with pride.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Stokes and husband Robert Stokes; his grandchildren, Tyler Stokes and wife Sherry, and Cameron Stokes and his fiancée, Katelyn; his beloved great-grandchildren, Rylee and Tysen Stokes; and his sisters, Wanda Williamson and Glenda Bailey and her husband, Bob.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ava "Blaine" Lewis and Thelma Lewis; his brother, Alvin Lewis; his sister-in-law, Wanda Lewis; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Williamson Jr.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Maribeth Leatherwood, Ronnie's former wife and Michelle's mother, for her devoted care, compassion, and unwavering support throughout his illness.
