Ronald Allen Cox, 71, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. Cox and Maycle Cox; his brothers, Leon Cox and Donnie Cox; and his sisters, Bonnie Hickle and Carolyn Cox.
He is survived by his son, Cory Cox; his daughter, Jamie Martin (Dakota); his two beloved granddaughters, Caroline and Elowyn; his longtime girlfriend, Erica Delgado; the mother of his children, Debbie Cox; his sisters, Glenda Turner and Helen Strickland; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ronnie was born on October 19, 1955, in Knoxville, Tennessee and remained a Knoxville resident since that day.
Ronnie was an avid bowler and spent decades bowling with the SMUSBC. Bowling was so much more than just a hobby to him. It was something he truly loved, and over the years he made countless friendships with people who became such a big part of his life.
When he wasn’t at the bowling alley, you could find Ronnie spending his weekends at Terry Point Campground. He loved being out on the lake, cruising around on his boat, fishing, and spending time with the friends he had made there over the years. Whether it was at the bowling alley or the campground, Ronnie was surrounded by people who loved him, and those friendships meant the world to him.
More than anything, Ronnie loved his family. He was a wonderful father to his two children, Cory and Jamie, and he absolutely adored his two granddaughters, Caroline and Elowyn. Those little girls held such a special place in his heart, and he loved them more than anything.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is finally at peace. We will forever cherish the memories, the time we had with him, and all the love he gave us.
In keeping with Ronnie’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. However, we will be hosting a celebration of life in his honor in the coming weeks for family and friends to come together and celebrate the life he lived. More details will be shared soon.
