Robert Edward Newman Vick

VICK, Robert Edward Newman, age 55 of Powell, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. He died in peace at his cherished "Aunt Bank's" house surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was born to the late Bob and Darlene (Smart) Vick on January 12,1969. He was a 1987 graduate of Powell High School.

After high school, Robert made his living being a "Jack of all Trades". An all-around great handyman and mechanic, he could fix anything that needed repaired. His skills were well sought after by family and friends. Even if Robert couldn't fix it, he'd tell you he could! Robert was the "go to" person for any help anyone might need. He was also a special helper and friend to his Uncle Gordon Treece for over 40 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Mary Smart (Papaw and Memo), Edward (Red) and Katie Vick; and sister, Buffy Vick.

Survivors include his brothers, Bryan and Brad Vick. Also surviving to cherish his memory are Brenda Vick (Aunt Bank) and Shannon Carlaine (Aunt Tane) and Gordon Treece. There are several surviving nieces and nephews to include, Emilee and Darlene Vick. The family would like to recognize Darlene for her loving care of her Uncle Robert in the latter stage of life.

Robert was Pentecostal and as a symbol of faith, he was baptized on August 14, 2022. He was a member of Soul Harvest Church of God, where he had a special relationship with his Pastor, Tony Vick. He took his duties as a Trustee of the Church very seriously. He worked tirelessly as a dedicated worker for the Chadrick K. Vick Food pantry, as well as other duties within the church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 5:00pm -7:00pm at the Soul Harvest Church of God, with a service to follow with Pastor Tony Vick officiating. Family and friends will meet up at 10:15am on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home-Powell Chapel, for a procession to Bells Campground Cemetery where Robert will be laid to rest.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Vick, Gordon Treece, Corky Vick, Eric Smith, Darlene and Emilee Vick.
