Robert Eugene Nokes Jr, 61 of Knoxville passed away peacefully on Monday evening, April 15, 2024, at UT Medical Center with his family at his side. Robert was the first-born son to the late Robert Eugene Nokes Sr and Cecile Minnie (Robbins) Nokes. Rob never met a stranger, a trait that served him well in life and in his career. He was successful in the local auto parts industries where he worked many years at Ted Russell Ford, Advance Auto, in addition to Auto Zone. But his heart was always with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office where he volunteered his time for over 20 years as a Sheriff Reserve Officer. His greatest joy and accomplishment were being a devoted husband & best friend of 30 years to Jessica Lee (Robison) Nokes, father to his five daughters, and Grandfather. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert Eugene Nokes Sr and Cecile Minnie Nokes. He is survived by his loving wife & caregiver, Jessica. Daughters, Leslie, Victoria (Ben) Hensley, Alexandria (John) Borden, Bailey and Addison; His grandchildren who called him “Pop Pop” Corren, Kinsley, Camden, Brooklynn, and Preslee. Brother John (Kim) and wonderful Uncle Walter Robbins; Sam Hassett, who was like a son to him. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who loved him dearly. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, 2829 Rennoc Road, Knoxville 865-688-2331. A funeral service will follow the visitation with Rev. David Thompson officiating. After the service family will be doing a special gathering with food and drinks provided to where all of those who knew and loved him will be able to tell us their favorite memories and/or stories.
