Robert "Bob" Emmett Jackson

Robert "Bob" Emmett Jackson age 85 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Wednesday morning, January 3, 2024.  A devoted husband for 66 years to Margaret "Mickey" Jackson.  Preceded in death by his first-born son, John Robert Jackson 1st; mother, Prudy Jackson; father, Jake Jackson and brother, Danny Jackson.  Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, John (Kim); Tom (Judy); Steve (Lisa) and Scott (Donna).  He had 10 grandchildren: 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great newborn grandchild.   Bob completed his apprenticeship with General Motors in Grand Rapids, MI.   Upon completion he returned to Knoxville, TN where he and his dad started J & J Machine and Tool in 1960.  His children have been blessed to work along the side of their dad for so many years.  Not many get to be with their immediate family 5-7 days a week for their lifetime.  Bob also served in the Army National Guard.  He and Mickey welcomed over 80-100 teens into their home on Thursday evenings to host Young Life in the 80's.  Their ministry touched many lives through Young Life, Campaigners and through exchange student programs.  He was a member of East Sunnyview Baptist Church.  Bob loved his family dearly and was a thankful man when we could all be together.  He would always humbly say, "we are so blessed to still have everyone and gather together".  There will be a Celebration of Life Service 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at East Sunnyview Baptist Church, 6802 Cahaba Lane Knoxville, TN  37914 Rev.
