Rita Ivey Taylor

Rita Ivey Taylor passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2024. Rita was born on August 20, 1941. She was an active member of her church and sang in several gospel groups. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Rita Ivey Taylor is preceded in death by her husband Earl Taylor, sons Stanley and Doyle, daughters Kathey and Beverly, parents Grant and Francis White, two grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters.

Rita is survived by Donna Smith, Lisa Taylor, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for all the care and love they showed to Rita and the rest of her family as well as her pastor of many years, Pastor Howard Capps.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with a funeral service to follow, with Pastor Frankie Phillips officiating. On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the family will meet at 11:45 a.m. at Roseberry Cemetery for a 12:00 p.m. graveside service.
