Rev. Kelsie Lloyd Jessee born August 1, 1942 passed away July 2, 2025 at his home in Corryton. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company/American General Life Insurance Company. He had pastored several churches in Union and Knox County, and also served as a Volunteer Pastor on the stroke floor at Baptist and Saint Mary's Hospitals.
Preceded in death by his parents Otis and Gladys Jessee; brothers, Estel and Hollis Jessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Bill Mills, June and Alvin Merritt, Lillis Staley, Jimmy White; father and mother-in-law, Xagus and Marie Lett; sister-in-law, Elva Ferguson; brother-in-law, Larry Lett; and brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Beverly Lett.
Survived by his loving wife, Wife Joyce; daughter, Melissa, sisters and brother-in-law; Elsie and Ray Lett, Pauline White; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary and Becky Lett, Jeri Lett; as well as several nieces and nephews. We would like to extend a Special Thanks to Patty, Susan, Alexis, Pam and Ashley from Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 5:00-7:00PM at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00PM, Rev. Tim Inklebarger and Rev. Larry Campbell officiating. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:45AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 for an 11:00AM Interment. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
