Rebecca "Becky" Carpenter Collins, age 72, was defeated by an incurable form of cancer at her home but gained the final victory by entering the presence of Jesus on Monday, January 6, 2025. She was a graduate of Central High School and lived in the Fountain City area of Knoxville for most of her life. Becky said she had a lot of fond memories of her and Mike's adventures over the years and liked being spontaneous. Becky and her husband are members of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, she retired from Kimberly-Clark Corp. of Knoxville.
Becky was preceded in death by her step-son Isaac Collins (whom she helped raise from ages 9 to 18), father Reece Carpenter; mother and step-father Margaret and Joe Ben Bell; sister, Annie Kate Carpenter and Brother Gary Carpenter.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Mike; daughter, Alicia Carpenter Tipton; son, Eric Bayless; grandchildren, Cayla and Cody Cunningham; sister and brother-in-law, Carolynn and Mike Cate; sister-in-love, Janis Butler; sisters-in-law, Glenna Lowe of Portsmouth, VA, Amy Collins of Thatcher, AZ, Lavona Collins of Maryville, TN; and brother-in-law, John Collins of Plano, TX.
The family expresses their deep appreciation for the many people who supported them during her illness.
