Ralph “Don” Medley, age 84 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022.In his youth, he was one of the very first people to ever play on a little league baseball team in Knoxville. He was a graduate of Central High School, class of ’57. During High School he played basketball and was eventually became the captain of his team. After he graduated, he followed the family tradition of working for Coca-Cola from 1957-1968. The next 30 years, he worked for Institutional Jobbers as a salesman before retiring. After retirement, he jumped right back into work by starting his own business in home improvement up until the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Don was a member of Fairview Knox Baptist Church. During his free time, Don enjoyed golfing, fishing, volunteering to help others, and watching UT Football. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph F. Medley and Geneva Medley, daughter; Jenifer Johnson, as well as several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris M. Medley, son; Don Medley Jr. and his fiancé Julie Degeorge, grandchildren; Chad (Samantha) Medley, Charly Ann Medley, Chase (Rachel) Johnson, and Sydney Johnson, sister; Judy Presley, sister- in- law; Lorene Tinker, son-in-law; Jim Johnson, as well as Kitty (Barry) Graves. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at Fairview Knox Church at 6:00pm, with Pastor C.H. Qualls and Pastor Jeff LaBorg officiating.
