Penney Denise Woods

Penney Denise Woods, age 54, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2026. Penney loved Jesus deeply and found joy in her faith and her church, City Hills Church.

She had a creative spirit and enjoyed expressing herself through painting, drawing, and writing. Penney will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle soul, and the love she shared with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bobbie Woods.

Penney is survived by her loving sisters, Robin Clabo and Angel Western; brother, Shawn Western; and her nephew, Josh Western, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her cousin, Christy Lett, for her care of Penney in her last days.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, from 3:00pm-4:00pm., with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, 2829 Rennoc Road, Knoxville. Pastor Jonathan Lighty officiating.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
