Paula "Laurie" Nelson

Laurie Nelson, age 63, of Knoxville, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Laurie was a graduate of Central High School class if 1979. In her spare time, Laurie enjoyed spending time with her grandkids Raylan and Nova Lett, daughter Lauren Lett, son in law Adam Lett and daughter’s brother-in-Law, Joshua Lett who were like her own children. Laurie was a huge supporter of the University of Tennessee medical center where she was one of the first tumor registers. Laurie was a huge Tennessee Vol fan from football to basketball.

She is preceded in death by her parents Kyle & Bernice Johnson, and by her brother David Johnson. 

She is survived by her Husband Ricky Nelson, Daughter Lauren (Adam) Lett, Grandchildren Raylan & Nova Lett. Sisters: Sharon (Mike) Fansler, Teresa (Stanley) Hocker, Cecilia (John) Bishop. Brothers: Keith (Nancy) Johnson, Robbie (Gina) Johnson. Nieces and Nephews: Cory (Lauren) Fansler, Katie (Jenna) Johnson, Megan (Mike) Cassin, Kevin (Jennifer) Johnson, Ashley (Michael) Petty, Alison (Steve) Stowell, Katrina Gibson. Great nephews & nieces, Briana Hocker, Mason (Hannah) Hocker, Hunter & Callie Johnson, Owen & Blair Fansler, Sutton Johnson, Abigail, Isabel,&  Ella Petty, Addilyn & Annika Cassin. Great Great Niece and Nephew Railee Hocker & Rider Hienzroth. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel.  (4131 East Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938).  Her brother, Pastor Keith Johnson, officiating.
