Paul Howard Corum, 88, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went home to be with his heavenly Father on January 1, 2026. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, Linda; children: Chris and Natalie (Jeremy Curl); grandchildren: Taylor (Mallory), Kelly (Marion), Jillian (Paul Michael Peeler), and Sage Curl; six much-loved great-grandchildren; sister and dearest friend, Barbara; and many adored nephews and nieces. Paul was preceded in death by parents, George and Virgie Corum; brother, Arlin; sisters, Shirley and Francis; and beloved daughter-in-law, Angie. Paul was a treasure to all who knew him. He was a gifted leader who shepherded others. It is no wonder Paul was only a sophomore when he became quarterback of the Rule High Golden Bear football team. He always saw the good in people, never speaking of anyone in a negative light. A natural problem solver. Determined. An encourager. These lifelong qualities made it easy to understand why he was voted president of his senior class. Hardworking, supportive, and fair, Paul was a beloved supervisor during his career as a regional maintenance engineer at TDOT. Outgoing and friendly, he often struck up conversations with complete strangers, able to find common ground with anyone. Authentic and humble, he was instantly likable. A great storyteller with sharp wit, always making others laugh. He loved nothing more than sharing a funny story about his grandchildren or mischief from long ago. He loved his buddies, and until recent years he could often be found each morning at Panera Bread, laughing and most certainly planning the next round of golf. A devoted husband and father with the most generous heart. A father who imparted practical and wise advice when it was needed most. Most important, he was a man of unwavering faith even in the most trying times. Now, this treasured man is restored and at peace in heaven with the Lord-his most treasured one.
